The story is based on the travel journal titled "UNBEATEN TRACKS in JAPAN" written by Isabella Lucy Bird, one of the most famous foreign traveler in Japan of the Meiji era (19th century). Her travelogue is a very valuable record for people who want to know Japanese traditional cultures, ethnic customs, and scenes.
