In this article, we introduce (Bilingual version of “the Fushiginokuni no Bird”) which is written in both Japanese and English. It is because this book is dedicated mainly for Japanese learners of English. The story is based on the travel journal titled "UNBEATEN TRACKS in JAPAN" written by Isabella Lucy Bird, one of the most famous foreign traveler in Japan of the Meiji era (19th century). Her travelogue is a very valuable record for people who want to know Japanese traditional cultures, ethnic customs, and scenes.
Here we introduce the first episode of this comic, featuring Yokohama in Meiji era.This comic can be enjoyed by all who are interested in Japanese traditional culture, as well as learning Japanese language.
